The questioning of the word, of what is said and how it is said, is another cornerstone of La Señorita Blanco’s research. This inquiry leads the artist to explore new avenues for encoding language. The escape from the textual arises from the need to reach the core, the why, the origin of a story (both written and spoken) that has shaped us as humanity, and from the speculation of other possible modes of communication.

In Lo Sagrado, 19 symbols form a choreography executed by the right hand of the performers (once again returning to resistance). The phrase reads: The Sacred is not touched because it is perverted by our ignorance.

The Sacred in La Señorita Blanco’s work refers to the emotion of the sublime that is unleashed in front of the landscape, beauty and terror in equal measure, a premonition of the disappearance of our bodies in contrast to the eternity of the horizon. How can one put it into words? How can it be touched?
