What drives my research is the idea of transferring the logic of the natural landscape to the stage and imagining the rituals that a body can construct while inhabiting that landscape. I extend the study of ritual, not only to its cultural and anthropological origin, but also to the body/flesh that becomes ritual itself.
My compositions are born from images that arise most of the times in an epiphanic way and that refer to a need to return to the origin, to the earth, to the sacred, to the animal... In fact, I can say that I compose rituals to understand the world around me and how the evolution of history has led us to the denaturalization of what we are.
This research about landscape, rite and tradition is a proposition to not look at landscape from an extractive distance again, or from an intention to tame it as a souvenir. Landscape within Landscape, is a proposition to touch the landscape, to get inside it and, from within, look at it with no other option but to look at ourselves.
La Señorita Blanco's work navigates between choreography and plastic installation. The artist digs into the concept and aesthetics of landscape incessantly and endows the pieces with a great aesthetic beauty, not absent of philosophical depth and a careful reflection on the relationship between exterior landscape and interior landscape, landscape of the flesh, our human flesh.
Landscape within Landscape began with the premiere at Teatros del Canal of Landscape within landscape: 1. Sacrificio in the year 2021. And,although at first La Señorita Blanco said that this research would be a chapter in her career, it has become her vital research and the creation of her own language in which to continue excavating.
